ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Dr. Hoon Sing Keow, an experienced and knowledgeable holistic leadership coach, has extensive experience in leadership coaching and counselling, analyzing organizational behavior, developing cross-cultural leadership and communication as well as women’s leadership training.


Dr. Hoon went to Sweden alone to pursue her university study in 1975. She had neither friends nor relatives living there, neither any insight of the Swedish society nor was she familiarized with the Swedish language from the outset. She has since then lived and worked there for 40 years prior to her returning home to Singapore.  Her employments at Swedish MNCs render her the knowhow of Scandinavian leadership and management practices which she imparts to her clients. 

Scandinavian leadership and management practices advocate relationship-oriented leadership with characteristics of openness, transparency, inclusion, trust, professionalism, and democracy which facilitates consensus in decision-making. Two immediate benefits of involving employees are greater commitment and better input from them, which are regarded as a great resource in business development. As a result, employees take more initiative and implement the decisions effectively and timely.

Work Experiences: ​

  • A profound commitment in the role of personal leadership coach to the then German Technical Executive Director at Shanghai Volkswagen for six consecutive years, which helped to pave his way to become the General Manager of Volkswagen AG in Germany later. 

  • A trainer engaged by MNCs to conduct seminars on cross-cultural leadership and communication in their endeavors of organizational transformation and building of organization culture. Clients include Dow Chemical, ABB, British Oxygen, and Ericsson Telecommunication.

  • Employments at Swedish MNCs such as Alfa-Laval, SEB Bank and Tetra Pak when living in Sweden. 

  • Guest lecturer on authentic leadership at various universities and higher educational institutions throughout Europe (INSEAD, School of Copenhagen International Business, etc.), China (Tsing Hwa University, Guangzhou Zhongshan University, Guangxi University and Jiangsu University) and in North America (US KEAN University, Canadian Simon Fraser University).

  • An external supervisor for MBA students in thesis writing at Nanyang Technological University - Nanyang Technopreneurship Center.

The combined strengths (i.e., work experiences, educational background, and affluent knowhow in Scandinavian management practices)  render Dr Hoon the capability to support leaders to attain professional competence, leadership competence, and social as well as communication competences.

 

She is passionate in nurturing leadership wisdom by developing leaders’ self-awareness which includes self-reflection and self-knowledge of leadership integrity, perception, courage and discerning ability. She has the following qualities:
